In this analysis, it has been tried to simulate and analyze the flow of heat transfer in a tube with vertical perpendicular fins, using Ansys Fluent software.
The geometry required for this analysis was generated by Ansys Design Modeler software, and the networking required for this analysis was also generated by Ansys Meshing software. The type of meshing used in this analysis is structural. The total number of cells produced for this geometry is 5097604 cells.
In this analysis, the K-epsilon Standard Viscosity Model is used to check the fluid flow. The Standard Wall Function is also used near the wall. The energy and momentum equation are solved for this analysis together.
The inlet for fluid flow is defined as Velocity Inlet and its value is set to 1 m/s. The input fluid temperature is considered to be 327 k. The output of the flow is also defined as pressure outlet. The pipe and fin walls are also defined as Wall.
In this analysis, the SIMPLE formulation algorithm is used to discretized the velocity and pressure coupling equations. The momentum and density equations are also discretized as Second Order Upwind.
The results are presented as velocity contours as well as streamlines.
